Poem: the Syriac language (original)

The language of the ancient East
A tongue of beauty and finesse
Syriac, a language rich in history
A treasure of literature and poetry

The words of Syriac, a melodious sound
A tapestry of meaning, richly wound
The language of the Bible and the Church
A holy tongue, a spiritual birch

Syriac, a language of faith and devotion
A bridge between cultures and nations
A testament to the strength and resilience
Of a people and their enduring persistence

The language of the Assyrian people
A symbol of their identity and steeple
Syriac, a language to be cherished and preserved
A treasure of culture and diversity, unswerved.
